Peter Fox is a Tetherless World Constellation Chair and Professor of Earth and Environmental Science, Computer Science and Cognitive Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Fox also directs the Insitution-wide interdisciplinary Information Technology and Web Science program. His research and education agenda covers the fields of data science and analytics, ocean and environmental informatics, computational logic, semantic Web, cognitive bias, semantic data frameworks, and solar and solar-terrestrial physics. Fox was awarded the 2012 Martha Maiden Lifetime Achievement Award for service to the Earth Science Information community, and the 2012 European Geosciences Union Ian McHarg Medal for significant contributions to Earth and Space Science Informatics. In 2015, Fox was elected as the first Earth and Space Science Informatics fellow to the American Geophysical Union.

Bob Freeman joined Research Computing Services at the Harvard Business School in March 2016 and brings with him a strong, in-depth background of scientific research, software development/systems integration, and technology consulting. Prior to RCS, he worked was Harvard University’s FASRC's facilitator for the NSF funded Advanced CyberInfrastructure Research and Education Facilitator grant, and was also the main campus' XSEDE Campus Champion. Bob recently worked as Staff Scientist under Marc Kirschner, Ph.D. in the Department of Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School (HMS), with responsibilities as both a scientist and informaticist.

Wolfram Horstmann is the director of the Göttingen State and University Library (University of Göttingen) since 2014 and professor at the Institute for Library and Information Science (IBI) at Humboldt-University Berlin. Prior to his current position he was Associate Director at the Bodleian Libraries of the University of Oxford, UK. He is currently leading several strategic projects in the areas scholarly communication, open access, research data and digital transformation. He is executive member and Chair of the Steering Group on Scholarly Communication and Research Infrastructures for the European research library association LIBER and member of the Executive Board of the Confederation of Open Access Repositories (COAR). In the Research Data Alliance (RDA), he is member of the Organisational Advisory Board and engaged in several groups. He acted as advisor to several bodies and initiatives, e.g. the European Commission, the German Research Foundation DFG, or the Nature journal „Scientific Data“.
Lisa R. Johnston
Lisa R. Johnston is the director for the Data Repository for the University of Minnesota (DRUM) and leads the Libraries' Research Data Management/Curation program. In 2016, Johnston and colleagues based in the U.S. launched the Data Curation Network project with funding by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation that developed a shared staffing model for data curation that aims to expand staff capacity across academic libraries and general data repositories. The Data Curation Network will be piloted across nine institutions beginning in the spring of 2018.
Dr Liz Lyon is a Visiting Professor in the School of Computing and Information (iSchool), University of Pittsburgh, where she teaches graduate classes on Research Data Management and Research Data Infrastructures. Dr Lyon has a PhD in Biological Sciences and was previously Associate Director of the UK Digital Curation Centre and Director of UKOLN Informatics at the University of Bath. Her research includes developing an understanding of disciplinary capability for data-intensive research. At Pittsburgh, she is exploring transparency and trust concepts in open science and is leading the envisioning of the institutional Data Commons.
David Minor works at the University of California, San Diego, where he is the Director of the Research Data Curation Program in the Library. In this role he helps define and lead work needed for the contemporary and long-term management of digital resources. His position includes significant interaction with stakeholders on the UC San Diego campus, throughout the UC System, and national and international initiatives. His program also includes management of Chronopolis, a national-scale digital preservation network.

Amy Nurnberger is the Program Head for Data Management Services at MIT libraries. Amy also serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Learning Analytics program at Teachers College, Columbia University. Within the broader research data community, Amy is a co-chair of the Research Data Alliance (RDA)/World Data Services Publishing Data Workflows Working Group and the RDA Education and Training on Handling Research Data Interest Group, is the elected co-chair of the RDA Organisational Advisory Board, and the appointed chair of the RDA Council Engagement and Communications Subcommittee. She also sits on the ACRL Research and Scholarly Environment Committee.

Michael C. Witt
Michael C. Witt is an Associate Professor of Library Science and the head of the Distributed Data Curation Center at Purdue University in USA. He has collaborated and lead initiatives that seek to apply library science principles to challenges in the curation of research data such as re3data.org, the Purdue University Research Repository, and the Data Curation Profiles Toolkit.He is currently on sabbatical as a research fellow at the Pufendorf Institute for Advanced Studies (https://www.pi.lu.se) at Lund University in Sweden.
